Author: Divers have found the body of a young Lorton man reported missing after he fell into Lake Anna, and a Scottsville man died in the James River near Hatton Ferry, authorities said today.
Lt. James Bibens of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office says the body of Kerolos Nadik Makhloof, 20,was found today off Magnolia Harbour.
Bibens said Makhloof, who was not wearing a safety jacket, was with a group of friends on a pontoon boat when he fell into the water yesterday. Rescue teams began looking for
him but had to call off the search at nightfall.
In Buckingham County, the sheriff’s office said John Harmon, 52, of Scottsville died in the James near Hatton Ferry. His body was taken to the state medical examiner’s
office. Alcohol is believe to be a factor in his death, but foul play is not suspected, Sgt. Scott Folsom said in a news release.
