Author: Good job Rachel. And speaking of good bugs vs bad bugs, I hope folks realize that those bug zappers they buy to kill mosquitoes do do squat. Mosquitoes aren’t attracted to them but nationwide, tons of GOOD bugs are.

Judging by the sound of zapping bugs as I walk through the neighborhood, that’s probably one reason we’re not seeing any lightning bugs this June.
Rather than electrocute our many legged friends, we could control more mosquitoes by simply getting rid of standing water.
