Author: A Virginia state trooper suffered minor injuries in a crash this afternoon on state Route 30 in King William County.
Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar said Trooper M.T. Allen was “attempting to overtake a violator” at 4:23 p.m., just west of VFW Road, when his right tires ran off the pavement. He attempted to regain control of his cruiser when he ran off the road and struck several trees.
Molnar said Allen, with the Virginia State Police for four years, was wearing his seatbelt and his lights and siren were operating at the time of the crash. Allen was taken to Sentara Hospital in Williamsburg for treatment. The crash remains under investigation, said Molnar.
