Author: Wednesday morning commuters should expect a major delay on Turner Road and Hull Street Road in Chesterfield County while workers repair a sinkhole.
Eastbound Hull Street Road drivers who need to access Turner Road are encouraged to use Walmsley Boulevard as an alternate, and westbound drivers on Hull Street Road should use Goodes Bridge Road to access Turner Road.
A police officer on Monday noticed a pavement depression on Turner Road south of Hull Street Road. No vehicles were reported affected or damaged by the sinkhole. Crews discovered a damaged old storm sewer pipe.
They stabilized the void yesterday and are planning to return to the site tomorrow around 7 a.m. to begin a repair project. The cause of the sinkhole has not been determined. — Reed Williams
