Original Article: Sheriff: Marijuana grow house discovered in Louisa

Law enforcement officials say a tip led them to a marijuana grow house in a Louisa County home this morning.

Officials executing a search warrant in the 3000 block of Goldmine Road found 129 plants valued at $387,000, said Lt. Howard Porter of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said David William Bickford, 42; Tracy Ruth Bickford, 46; and Larry Edward Turner Jr., 38, were arrested at the scene.

They were taken to Central Virginia Regional Jail and released on bond of $5,500, $5,000, and $5,000, respectively. All three are scheduled for a Tuesday court appearance.

Agents recovered several pounds of processed marijuana, growing equipment, cash and one handgun, officials said. — Chris I. Young
