One area Department of Motor Vehicles office will be closed part of the day on June 23, and two other DMV offices will close part of June 24 as the agency upgrades its customer queuing equipment.

The closures will affect the Chesterfield, West Henrico and Petersburg DMV offices.

DMV’s Chesterfield Customer Service Center at 610 Johnston Willis Drive will be closed June 23 until 1 p.m. for the technology upgrades.

Chesterfield-area customers who want to complete DMV transactions in person before 1 p.m. June 23 can use the central Department of Motor Vehicles office, 2300 W. Broad St., Richmond, or the West Henrico Customer Service Center, 9237 Quioccasin Road.

For in-person transactions such as those involving license plates, decals or titles, customers can visit the Chesterfield DMV Select service in the commissioner of the revenue’s office, 9901 Lori Road.

Driver’s license transactions cannot be processed at DMV Select operations.

The West Henrico DMV office on Quioccasin Road and the Petersburg DMV office at 120 Wagner Road will be closed June 24 until 1 p.m.

West Henrico-area customers can use the North Henrico Customer Service Center, 9015 Brook Road, or the Central DMV office on West Broad Street.

For transactions such as those involving license plates, decals or titles, customers also can go to the Hanover DMV Select, 7497 County Complex Road, or the Goochland DMV Select, 1800 Sandy Hook Road, Suite 210.

Petersburg-area customers can use the Hopewell DMV office, 4401 Crossings Blvd., or the Chester Customer Service Center, 12100 Branders Creek Road. They also can visit the Chesterfield DMV Select on Lori Road.

The three DMV offices will reopen using a new take-a-number customer queuing system called Q-Flow.

DMV is replacing its 12-year-old customer queuing system at each of its offices. The new queuing system will allow the agency to provide better service, the agency said.
