Original Article: Chesterfield man charged again with raping woman while posing as police officer

A Chesterfield County man charged earlier this month with raping a woman while posing as a police officer in Henrico County was arrested Saturday on nearly identical charges in Chesterfield, authorities confirmed today.

Johnny Eugene Quick, 44, of the 5100 block of Gention Road, was charged with rape, abduction and impersonating a police officer in connection with an incident Sept. 1, court records show. Quick is accused of picking up a prostitute in the 8900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway after identifying himself as a police officer and then raping her, police said.

The victim apparently came forward after publicity about Quick’s Nov. 7 arrest in Henrico.

In that case, police said the victim accepted a ride from Quick, who told her he was a police officer. Quick, who was not wearing a uniform, then drove the woman a few blocks into Henrico from the Chamberlayne Avenue area of North Richmond and raped the woman before releasing her, according to police.

Quick, who works as a mechanic, was served with the Chesterfield warrants Saturday in Henrico Jail, where he was being held on the earlier charges. He is set to appear Jan. 21 in Chesterfield General District Court.

In October 2001, Quick was arrested on similar charges in Richmond, including rape, abduction with the intent to defile, robbery and two counts of impersonating a police officer. But the charges were withdrawn by prosecutors in November 2002, according to court records. It was not immediately clear why that case was dropped.

He pleaded guilty to a stalking charge in Richmond in June of 2002 and was sentenced to 12 months in jail with six months suspended. That offense occurred in October 2001, court records show.
