Author: Gov. Kaine Warns His Upcoming Budget Will Contain Cuts Many”Won’t Like”
Richmond, VA (1140wrva.com) _ Outgoing Virginia Governor Tim Kaine met Monday with his Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates, and issued a warning about the budget he will present to the joint money committees of the General Assembly December 18. Kaine says his proposed budget will contain cuts a lot of people “won’t like”.
The Governor, speaking with reporters after the meeting, reiterated his position that “everything is on the table”. Kaine said his budget will try to maintain Virginia’s core services along with Virginia’s AAA bond rating while at the same time maintaining Virginia’s edge when it comes to competitive leadership.
Governor-elect Bob McDonnell and Lt. Governor-elect Bill Bolling also attended the meeting.
